The congregation and well wishers of King of Kings Church in Sanga Town Council, Nyabushozi, Kiruhura District are up in arms with authorities and Police for failing to hunt down goons who demolished their church on Monday night.
The angry Christians also accuse the government of Uganda for failing to support them in rebuilding the Lord’s temple that was demolished by yet-to-be identified people.
“We are all Ugandans and we have a right of religious belonging thus the government must not under value us,” Christians at the construction site said, alleging favouritism that they say is accorded to the traditional religions.
With more investigations however, The Ugandan Wire was able to discover that the land on which the church sits had previously been given out to money lenders as collateral security by a pastor who is currently at large.
The church is said to have been able to clear just 4 out of the 9 million that was demanded by the money lender.
According to sources that prefered anonymity, a one Yasin Sango (the money lender) could have been behind the barbaric demolition act so that he can seize ownership of this land in Sanga Town Council.
“We had agreed to always remit Shs 1 million on a monthly basis until the remittance is cleared but this was later revised to Shs 500,000 since religious institutions were locked out of operation by the Coronavirus outbreak.” An insider at the Church told our reporter.
This sad development comes just weeks after the Ndeeba Church of Uganda was demolished by the businessman Dodoviko accusing the Church of illegally possessing the land it was standing on.
