Ministry Of ICT Needs UGX 3Bn for COVID-19 Awareness Billboards Around Towns

Today the budget committee of Parliament of Uganda passed a supplementary budget amounting to UGX 284Billion meant for combating the Coronavirus pandemic in Uganda, a figure that has left most citizens worried about the kind of rapid response plans the Ministry of Health is putting in place to gallop this additional money.

On the UGX 284B, the Minisry of ICT had about ugx 14B which the officials claim that it will be allocated to media companies like radios and Televisions to facilitate the spread of information.

The Ministry of ICT’s budget we managed to acquire provides details of money allocations with over ugx 3B meant for printing and placing awareness billboards around towns and markets something that still shocks citizens in lock down.
