Easy Man, a musician based in Mbarara has sent a stern warning to his Kampala based colleagues specifically those campaigning for President Museveni ahead of the 2021 elections to not dare set foot in their region if they are going to disrespect them.
Easy Man together with a group of other artistes based in Mbarara have aired their disgruntlement while addressing journalists in Mbarara. The artiste claim their counterparts in Kampala especially Bebe Cool disrespect them when they meet them at President Museveni’s rallies in the west.
“I advertised a rally of President Museveni while on Radios and TVs when he was going to campaign in Kaberebere (Isingiro) but Bebe Cool chased me off stage like a thief when he came. He had no idea what I had gone through to get the people to come for the rally but because he believes he’s bigger than me, he ordered me around and chased me off stage.” One artiste told the press.
He said that Bebe Cool has his way in Buganda and also has his way in Ankole too. He added that the if that continues, then there will be no musical development in western Uganda but the same stars in the central will keep overshadowing them even in their cradle lands.
“Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusasira, Buchaman, Full Figure should not step foot in western Uganda. We are going to arrange stones and we will be ready to stone them if they dare come between us and President Museveni. Infact, the only artiste we want in western Uganda is Bobi Wine.” The artistes sang in chorus.
The artistes say that they’re their own kings in the West and the musicians from Kampala should not be used to stamp on them and deny them progress.
