The ruling party, National Resistance Movement (NRM) 2021 Presidential flag bearer Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has finished campaigns in greater Acholi Land after meeting with Party leaders in Kitgum District.
The President hailed the people of Acholi Land for working with the NRM to ensure peace and stability in the region acknowledging that it is the backbone of any development anywhere.
Kitgum, a historical opposition stronghold is particularly dear to opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) but the President has been strategic in trying to win it.
In the coming election, Museveni’s NRM will be presenting Minister Beatrice Anywar (formerly of FDC) and Lilian Aber the Outgoing Chairperson of the National Youth Council (NYC) also formerly in the FDC.
The NRM has also successfully wooed popular artist Bosmic Otim who is mobilizing for the President and NRM in the region having defected from Bobi Wine’s People Power.
“I was pleased to visit this region when peace and development are now in place. I congratulate the people of Acholi region for this progress. Working with the NRM, they have ensured that this peace is safeguarded. Uganda is experiencing peace that is attracting investors who are helping in solving the challenges of essential commodities, providing employment to Ugandans and revenue to the government.” Museveni said.
The President was in Gulu the day before, where he met youths leaders and elders of the party that he briefed and gave a go ahead to campaign scientifically in the door-to-door strategy that the party has adopted.
The youths asked him to display stamina and the President successful completed 10 press ups.
Today, NRM is taking their campaign to the Karamoja region where Museveni will meet Youths Leaders and other NRM leaders in Moroto.
