Kotido District Health Officer, Dr Phillip Olinga has been charged before the Anti-Corruption Court with embezzlement of Shs 46M meant to facilitate training of Health Workers in Basic Family Planning Methods, which activity he didn’t do.
Dr. Olinga apppeared before Grade One Magistrate Sarah Namusobya and denied the charges plus an alternative count of causing government a financial loss of the said money.
Prosecution led by the Inspector General of Government (IGG’s) Office alleges that Dr. Olinga committed the offence between November 2014 and March 2015 in Kotido District.
He has been granted bail of Shs 3M cash and ordered to return to Court on 10th March for mention of his case.
