Dicksons Kateshumbwa, the former Commissioner of Customs at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has been nominated to contest for Member of Parliament (MP) representing Sheema Municipality in the 2021 General Elections.
Kateshumbwa beat the Minister of Science and Technology and incumbent MP of the area Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Primaries that were conducted last month.
Speaking about his nomination earlier today, Katesh, as he is fondly referred to by his supporters and friends promised to run a clean and peaceful election in the general polls come 2021.
The former Chairman of the World Customs Body also pledged to paint Sheema Municipality yellow (his party colour) and to promote the NRM Party ideology within the constituency.
“Fully nominated as NRM Flag Bearer for MP Sheema Municipality. We shall run a peaceful and clean campaign, we shall promote the NRM Party ideology and paint Sheema yellow all the way. We shall not respond to negative malicious attacks and propaganda but rather remain focused.” Kateshumbwa said in a statement.
Katesh resigned from the tax body, URA, in April along with three other senior commissioners after the appointment of the new URA Commissioner General John Musinguzi Rujoki.
