Online retail giant Jumia Uganda has donated 30,000 masks towards the fight against the spread of the novel coronavirus. also known as COVID-19.

Jumia, an online shopping and delivery company handed over the donation to the Director General of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr Henry Mwebesa.

According to the Ministry of Health communications team, the masks will further the efforts against the spread of the virus especially at boarder points across the country.

“The face masks will be distributed to the health workers at the various health facilities at border points across the country.” The Ministry said in a statement.

The masks were handed over by the Jumia Uganda CEO, Mr Ron Kawamara.

“Jumia continues to support the COVID-19 response in Uganda by providing logistics (delivery trucks) for essential medical supplies and other items across the country. Thank you, Jumia. We appreciate you.” The Ministry statement further said.
