Electoral Commission yesterday issued out a statement directing that campaign meetings have been suspended in a number of districts including Masaka district following the current surge in numbers of covid-19 cases in Uganda.
Today, the NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyangulanyi woke up in Masaka district for his campaigns where towns were turned into hot battle fields and massacre lots between the Uganda Police and supporters of Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine’s close reporter Ashraf Kasirye was shot on the head by police and currently feared dead. Other journalists including Daniel Lutaya of NBS and Ali Mivule of NTV are subsequently nursing severe injuries emanating from Tear gas explosives.
Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi has by far suspended his campaigns until further notice following the stampede that resulted into reckless shootings.
