Yesterday, President Museveni using his social handles made public his meeting with popular Ugandan comedian, Patrick Idringi alias Salvador. The meeting, according to the President, was aimed at constructive discussion about the comedy industry and its development.
However, many Ugandans have gone on to interpret the meeting as a buy off, especially considering that Salvador is a known associate of People Power’s Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine that has already announced that he’ll challenge Museveni for President in 2021.
After Full Figure, Buchaman, and Eddy Kenzo, People Power fans were scared the man from Ombokolo had also “betrayed them” and joined President Museveni after some heavy consideration.
While joking about their skepticism, Salvador acknowledged the meeting with the president and clarified that he had gone to State House on invitation of the president and that since it is January, it should be understandable.
President Museveni, ahead of 2021, has been involved in open talks with influential figures in society most of whom have opposed him in the past. Just last week, he met with former Prime Minister and Go Forward 2016 Presidential Candidate, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi at his country farm in Kisozi.
