US President, Donald Trump has categorised places of worship such as churches, synagogues and mosques as essential places during the COVID-19 pandemic and demanded that they be re-opened right away.

While addressing the press, Trump said the American people are great believers and that their places of worship need to be re-opened right away because they encourage unity among the populance.

“At my direction, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, is issuing guidance for communities of faith. Today, I am identifying houses of worship as essential places that provide essential services.” Trump said.

He noted that some State Governors are recognizing Abortion Clinics and Liquor Stores as essential and leaving out Churches, something he believes is an injust.

“The governors need to do the right thing and open these essential places right now. If they don’t do it, I will override the governors.” He added.

There are 1.6M confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States with some 311,000 recoveries and over 95,000 deaths.
