The Ntungamo Municipality Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) party flag bearer who is also the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ntungamo Municipality Hon Gerald Karuhanga has assured the people of his constituency that whoever has a plot or land in the municipality will get a land title in order to safeguard their property and act as security when they are securing loans in Banks.
Hon Karuhanga noted that for the development to prevail and for people to use their land the way they want, they must possess land titles as the only way to curb the increased case of land grabbers in the country.
He noted that many people have lost land battles to land thieves or grabbers due to government and leaders failure to help their voters to access genuine land titles thus land conflicts which has resulted in deaths of innocent Ugandans.
MP Karuhanga will be facing five other contenders vying for the same seat including, Yonah Musinguzi Bikwasizehi the NRM flag Bearer, Daily Monitor Journalist Rumanzi Perez on the FDC ticket, Bishanga Moses Kafumba, Ampereza Hillary and Edward Beyendeza Bekunda all independents.
Aspirant Beyendeza Edward Bekunda who is on an independent ticket asked voters to shun away politicians who are violent in nature because politics is about exchanges of ideas but not political violence.
Beyendeza told people in the Municipality that he was coming as an independent because the NRM primaries was marred by bribes, importation of voters from neighboring areas and intimidation which will not be the case in general elections.
Ruhaama County NRM flag bearer Nkwatsibwe Zinkuratiire Henry after being nominated pledged to secure jobs for youth in his Parambot Breweries Company as the only way to increase productivity in Ruhaama County.
The Ruhaama East County NRM flag bearer Kamukama Benjamin Katangura promised to realign the disgruntled NRM youth to come back in the party because no leaders have come out to show them the right way and “that’s why they are meandering in the mushrooming political parties.”
