FULL LIST: Winners, Losers As NUP Unveils MP Flagbearers for Central Region

The National Unity Platform (NUP) has released lists for flagbearers at various Member of Parliament (MP) levels for constituencies in the Central Region of Uganda.

In a statement, the embattled Political Party also announced former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) member and Woman MP for Kampala District as their flagbearer for Lord Mayor, Kampala.

“Today, the Executive Board of the National Unity Platform sat and passed candidates for the position of Member of Parliament for various constituencies in the Central Region. The Board also approved Hon. Nabilah Naggayi Sempala as candidate for Lord Mayor of Kampala.” The Party said in statement.

They noted that there are positions whose results were deferred for re-evaluation on account of different reasons but said there is a team supervised by the Deputy President, Central Region that is undertaking this task in the next 48 hours.

“Tomorrow, we should be able to release a list of candidates for the Eastern region, and subsequently for the Northern and Western regions.” They further said.

Among the high profile names missing in the shortlist are comedian Patrikko Mujuuka, Bobi Wine’s brother Eddie Yawe that wanted to replace him in Kyadondo East, Singer Khalifah Aganaga, and Kawempe North LCV Councillor Ssegirinya Mohammed whose constituency is up for re-evaluation.
