- Alan Rogers (England) – 1965–1966
Alan Rogers is 96 years and has held coaching positions in Uganda, South Africa, Iran, the USA, Qatar, Zambia, Libya, Philippines and Iceland. He was at the helm of the Uganda Cranes from 1965-1966.
- Robert Kiberu (Uganda) – 1967–1969
A former Uganda Cranes player turned coach, Robert Kiberu is the first Ugandan head of the Cranes. In 1963, Kiberu was drafted in the first team and due to his outstanding game-reading, was handed the national team’s arm-band. He captained Uganda to the 1963 Gossage Cup title in which they walloped Zanzibar 8-0 in the decider at Nakivubo. He captained Cranes from 1967-1969.
- Burkhard Pape (Germany) – 1969–1972
After leaving Egypt, Pape left Africa and managed teams across Asia and the Pacific, such as Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, Papua New Guinea and Tuvalu.
Pape became manager Uganda in 1968 after leaving his job coaching Sierra Leone. He left Uganda in August 1972, having won 41 out of the 70 games he had been in charge of. His next big job was as Egypt manager, a position he held from 1975 to 1977. He returned to Africa to coach Tanzania at the 2000 Four Nation Castle Lager Cup
- David Otti (Uganda) – 1973–1974
Considered one of the most successful coaches in Ugandan foorball, Otti coached the Uganda Cranes, Uganda’s national team which qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in Cairo (1974) and Ethiopia (1976).
