Former Prime Minister and 2016 Presidential Candidate Amama Mbabazi has finally confirmed his decision to rejoin President Yoweri Museveni and said that he is soon returning to the mainstream party, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to take center stage in the political party affairs.

While meeting some 138 NRM councilors from all the five divisions of Kampala including Kampala central, Nakawa, Kawempe, Rubaga and Makindye on Tuesday, ahead of the general elections, Mbabazi said he had never left the party.

Mbabazi, who was representing Mr. Museveni at the meeting, told councilors that he has never left the NRM party despite the disagreements he had with Museveni which brought about his sacking from the Office of the Prime Minister and consequently contesting as a Candidate in the 2016 General Elections.

The former Kanungu Legislator and “Super Minister” said that he is one of the founding members of NRM party and there is no way he would abandon a man he has been with for over 50 years further adding those saying that he left the party do not know what they are talking about.

Mbabazi says he has his own issues which he will openly talk about when the right time comes.
