Former Principle Private Secretary (PPS) to President Yoweri Museveni and current Minister for Economic Monitoring Ms Molly Kamukama has picked forms to contest as an Independent Member of Parliament (MP) aspirant for the Kazo Woman MP seat in the 2021 general elections.

Ms Kamukama lost the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag to Ms Jennifer Muheesi Abaho and efforts to challenge the result in the NRM tribunal and eventually in the High Court in Mbarara did not bear fruit.

“Today, I have been duly nominated to contest as an Independent Candidate in the 2021 General Election.” She told our snoops in Kazo.

Kamukama lost by just 87 votes after polling 16,715 votes against her rival and the eventual winner Muheesi’s 16,802. She believes she won the election and seeks to settle the contest by judgement of the people when they go back to the polls in 2021.

She joins Sheema Municipality MP Elioda Tumwesigye, the Minister of Science and Technology who was also nominated Thursday morning as an Independent candidate to rival the former Commissioner for Customs at URA Dicksons Kateshumbwa.
