Dan Kimosho, the former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Medical Stores (NMS) has been nominated as the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party flag bearer for Kazo County in Parliament.
Kimosho, who beat the incumbent Gordon Bafaki in the Party Primaries, went to Kazo Catholic Parish Church for dedication and prayers as soon as he completed the process of nomination.
A former talk show host at Mbarara based Radio West, Kimosho moderated political talk shows like Katuhurirane and Manya Ebikufa Omwihanga Ryawe. It is from such talk shows that some of Western Uganda biggest politicians at the moment including Hon. Francis Mwijukye of Buhweju and Hon. Mujuni Vicent Kyamadidi the former Rwampara County MP kicked off their careers. Initially, he had co-hosted Akagwe with Kaceebezi, the current Mayor of Mbarara City.
From Radio West, Kimosho joined Mulago National Referral Hospital as a Public Relations Officer (PRO), a position he held until 2010 when he resigned to participate in the 2011 general elections.
He contested for the Youth Parliamentary Seat Western Uganda (2011-2016) in the NRM Primaries but lost Aggrey Kyobuguzi, a State House employee. In 2013, he joined the National Medical Stores (NMS), a position he has since resigned from.
Born in 1984, Dan Atwijukire Kimosho is a son of the Late Kosia Mugume and Mrs. Pere Mugume of Bugarihe Rwemikoma Sub-County. He is a grand son to the Late Nathan Kimosho, a name that he has since adopted.
He started school at Bugarihe Primary School in 1989 before joining Kazo Model Primary School from where he completed his Primary Education. For his O’Level, he went to Buremba Secondary School and completed his HSC in Kampala.
He studied History, Economics, Literature and Divinity (HEL/D) as his subject combination at HSC. In 2003, he enrolled at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono for a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a major and interest in Mass Communication.
