Mathias Kasamba, a former Member of Parliament (MP) at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and Director of Mobilization and Cadre Identification at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) passed on yesterday at Nakasero Hospital, the party Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba has announced.

Information that this website has received is that the former NRM Director slid and fell in his bathroom from where he was rushed to hospital and he passed on unfortunately.

“The NRM secretariat regrets to announce the passing on of our colleague, Mathias Kasamba, the director of Mobilization and Cadre Identification and a Member of the EALA.” Lumumba said.

Kasamba was among the members were attending the NRM MPs retreat at Kyankwanzi in his capacity as a party official. The three week long retreat which started on April 7th will end tomorrow.

The late has previously served as MP for Kakuuto County in Rakai (now Kyotera District) and has been a prominent model farmer of coffee in his community.

He was elected to EALA on December 18, 2017 and was scheduled to complete his term on December 18, 2022. Kasamba was in 1996 involved in a motor accident that took away his left arm.
