The battle between the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga and the State Minister for Lands Hon.Persis Namuganza has caused whispers within the state. One of the people who have come out in the matter is the Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Betty Nambooze.
“Namuganza possesses no genuine intentions for the seat (2nd National Vice Chairperson, NRM CEC) but she is backed by a mafia out there to fight Kadaga,” said Nambooze.
She commenced with blasting the Barometer Show host Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa for hosting Namuganza to discuss a “petty issue” from the village.
Nambooze added that Namuganza has taken the issue too personal to the extent of fighting a fellow woman and at the same time her aunt (Kadaga), insisting that Kadaga is a very strong selfless woman who is respected in Uganda and oversees.
“Currently many women have been pushed off their land more especially during this pandemic period, as a Minister of Lands what policies has she laid to help out such women? Why doesn’t she mind that cause than battling a fellow woman? Right now the Mafia is laughing and is motivating Namuganza with loads of money. I am very astonished by the way she (Namuganza) accepted to be used as a weapon which I think will bring diverse effects to her”, Nambooze said.
Nambooze insisted that if Minister’s Namuganza’s claim of overthrowing NRM leaders who have over stayed in power is rational, she would have started by competing against President Museveni and other than ‘fighting a fellow woman.’
In response, Minister Namuganza said Nambooze is a very honest and respectful woman and her compliments are very good though she spoilt them by adding what she termed as bad views. She said nothing concerning her wrangle with Speaker Kadaga.
