The results of amending the Constitution’s Article 102 (b) – on age limit, continue to come out day by day.
Yesterday, a 19 year old Ugandan, Hillary Humphrey Kaweesa, who is senior six (UACE) vacation appeared at the Electoral Commission (EC) offices to pick presidential nomination forms to unseat the incumbent President Yoweri Museveni.
Speaking to journalists at the EC head offices shortly after picking his forms, the former student of Mengo Senior School in Kampala, said that he has been a leader all his student life and the 2021 general election has presented him with an opportunity to steer this country forward.
“I have all the qualifications. I am a big dreamer and achiever which makes me a good leader and I am a Ugandan citizen,” Kaweesa said.
He says he has been a leader since primary school and believes he has the most right qualities and attributes of occupying Uganda’s biggest office.
Kaweesa said at Mengo S.S, he was a Councillor in the School Council and he attained three principal passes in the 2019 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), which is a requirement for anyone intending to run for the country’s biggest political office.
It should be remembered that in 2017, Parliament of Uganda scrapped off the presidential age-limit of 75 years, lowering the eligibility age for one to run as president to at least 18 years of age.
This makes Kaweesa the youngest Ugandan to ever pick presidential nomination forms.
