Uganda’s Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business has taken himself into self isolation over fears that he could have contracted the novel coronavirus.
Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda, a Medical professional and former Minister of Health in the government of President Museveni is the head of the COVID-19 Task Force in Uganda.
Just moments ago, the Prime Minister announced that he would be taking the bold step to self isolate after some of his close contacts contracted and tested positive for the coronavirus.
“Friends, I have gone into self isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for #COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure.” Rugunda tweeted.
Uganda has 522 comfirmed COVID-19 cases and only 82 recoveries. No deaths have been reported. Just recently, some frontline health workers that had been attending to COVID-19 patients tested positive for the disease.
