Keith Muhakanizi the Secretary to the Treasury at the Ministry of Finance yesterday issued a letter to the Ministry of Public Service requesting for the prioritizing of salary payments for government workers in contention to provide more resources meant for combating corona virus in Uganda.
According to the letter Muhakanizi issued, payments of wages and salaries will start with specific categories which will have some of the government workers receiving their salaries a bit late.
The categories that should be considered first according to the letter include Ministry of Health, Security Agencies, State House, Office of The President, regional and referral hospitals and other health facilities.
Other payments outside the above categories are not a priority at the moment and so will have to be handled later.
