The Kampala High Court’s Civil Division will on 16th October, 2020 pronounce itself on whether presidential aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s  National Unity Platform (NUP) is legally registered with Uganda’s Electoral Commission.

This follows evidence that has been adduced in court by two founder members of National Unity and Reconciliation Party (NURP) Moses Kibalama the President and Secretary General, Simbwa Nkonge informing presiding Judge Musa Ssekaana that they furnished forged documents to the Electoral Commission;  for purposes of changing their party name to National Unity Party (NUP).

The two have admitted that they did this without following the Party Constitution (NURP).

Kibalama and Ssimbwa appeared in court this morning following summons requiring them to come and throw more light to the case filed between founder Members of NURP against Bobi Wine challenging the sale and change of their NURP party name without their authorization.

After the duo’s evidence; Justice Ssekaana has now asked the parties’ Lawyers in this case; Medard Lubega Ssegona for Bobi Wine and Eric Sabiiti for EC, to file written submissions that will help the Court reach a just decision in the matter.
