A Kampala Businessman, Mansa Kenneth who was found in possession of expired Cosmetic Products contrary to Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) Laws and Regulations has been charged before the Buganda Road Court.
Mansa Kenneth, the Managing Director of Mukinda Cosmetics Ltd a Warehouse located at Plot 135 in Najjanankumbi a Kampala suburb, was found with expired cartons of Aloe Vera Toning Cream, Miss Caroline, Shaving Cream, Detoilete Soap, Cocoa Butter Vaseline, Skin lightening tubes with prohibited hydroquinone chemical and tooth paste products among others; all of which do not conform to the required standards having expired from 2001, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Mansa appeared before Grade One Magistrate Stella Amabilis and admitted to charges of being in possession of the expired Cosmetic Commodities but claimed they were not for sale.
He was then granted bail with orders to deposit Shs 2M cash in court while his surities were to sign a noncash bond of Shs 30M each and ensure that the accused person returns to court for trial on 28th October, 2020.
UNBS Prosecutor Doreen Nanvule has been ordered to produce witnesses that day and the National Identification Cards of the accused person and his surities have been retained by Court until the determination of this case.
