Former Presidential aspirant and retired Major General, Benon Biraro of the Farmers Party has passed on, we can exclusively reveal.
According to sources, Gen Biraro has been battling colon cancer that has since claimed his life, just months away from 2021 Presidential Election nominations.
Praised for having the most vibrant manifesto in the 2016 election, Biraro was a bush war veteran hailing from the south western district of Isingiro. He served as the Commandant of the Uganda Senior Command and Staff College in Kimaka, Jinja.
Just the year, Biraro, a former comrade of President Museveni retaliated his earlier stance and insisted that in 2021, Museveni needed to go for the prosperity of the country.
“Museveni, for his record of service, all we see is collapse of the health sector, education and security. We cannot allow this mess to continue simply because of one man. Enough is enough, it is time Museveni resigned in peace.” Gen Biraro said.
According to close members of his family, Gen. Biraro breathed his last this afternoon while under medication at Kampala International Hospital.
He was born on March 1, 1958. He attended Makerere University, and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Later, he attended Cranfield University in the United Kingdom where he graduated with a Masters in Global Strategic Studies.
May his soul rest in peace. Details of the burial coming shortly.
