Robert Kyagulanyi has accused the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs of double standards. This follows a request by the National Unity Platform to use the Kololo Ceremonial grounds to commemorate their five years of existence.
However, in response, the Defence ministry Kallu Sam on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, informed the National Unity Platform that they cannot use the Kololo Independence Grounds as they are undergoing infrastructural developments. He advised them to seek alternative venues.
Through his X, Kyagulanyi argued that the same grounds have been hosting different events, including the 40 years of NRM celebrations. Adding that different individuals and other organizations have continued to hold concerts and other events there.
“Effectively, these public grounds are only available for use by everyone who worships Gen. Museveni and his regime!,” he said.
He noted that the actions exemplify nothing but rather state capture.
