Fresh tension is mounting at the Uganda – Rwanda border of Ryakarimira Town Council in Kabale District after a Rwandan national was shot dead and two injured by Rwandan security operatives while crossing from Uganda. The deceased has been identified as Muremi Chabobuzi, a resident of Burera District in Northern Province, Rwanda. The injured are; Rusizi Rwamayanje and Ronald Nihabusa. The website of the Uganda Police Force has been hacked and taken down by an online human rights activism group called “Anonymous.” “Uganda: Anonymous has taken down @PoliceUg’s website in response to recent violent government repression & killings.” The group announced on Twitter 8 hours ago. The group, Anonymous, called for Police to respect human lives, the freedom of peaceful assembly and protest. By press time, the website (upf.go.ug) was still down with no statement from the Force or relevant authorities in that regard. 27 Youths who were arrested yesterday in  protests against the arrest  and detention of National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential Candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine have been arraigned before Buganda Road Court in Kampala and remanded to Kitalya Government Prison on charges of Incitement of Violence. The Muslim Community has criticized the Ministry of Health for failure to train local communities on how to bury their loved ones who succumb to the COVID-19 virus. The body of a 20 year old woman who drowned in River Karehe, Burambira Parish, Kaharo Sub County in Kabale District yesterday morning has been retrieved by the locals. According to the Local Council 1 Village Chairperson of Rushebeya I, Mr. Simeo Byandusa, a one Monica Tayebwa, a resident of Rushebeya I, Burambira Parish, Kaharo Sub County drowned in the river at 7:30 am while trying to cross, going to Nyanja Trading Centre. Kabale Municipal authorities have halted the collection of local revenue after receiving complaints from the business community that the municipal revenue collectors were mistreating tax payers. The decision to halt collection of revenue was reached on Tuesday during the Kabale Municipal Council budget conference for the financial year 2021/2022 held at Christ the King Church hall in Kabale Municipality.
