President Museveni, in his latest address to the nation, has extended curfew hours and allowed Boda Boda riders to resume operation after over 4 months in total lockdown due to COVID-19. Curfew that has initially been starting at 7pm every night till 6am in the morning has been extended to begin from 9pm and end at 5:30am every morning. In a meeting with the State Minister for Higher Education Hon John Chrysostom Muyingo, Members of Parliament (MPs) on the National Economy Committee appealed for the cancellation of the 2020 academic year. The MPs say that it is not reasonable to re-open schools for the continuation of the academic year to operate with the burden of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that were put in place by the Ministry of Health to reduce spread of coronavirus. The latest reaching us is that Uganda Members of Parliament (MPs) shall have to undergo testing for coronavirus (COVID-19) after one of their own, Hon. Hellen Kahunde tested positive for the virus.
