Lawyer Male Mabirizi has been slapped with a Shs 300,000,000 fine for allegedly insulting a judge on social media, this website has learnt. Mabirizi, who recently threatened to drag President Museveni to court over a driving permit, has in the past been known for dragging high profile figures to court including the Kabaka and National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu. Schools in Uganda have fully reopened this morning, almost two years after the coronavirus pandemic started. This has been one of the world’s longest closures since the virus forced governments to close learning institutions back in March 2020. The Democratic Party (DP), an opposition political party in Uganda, has vowed to sue the government over what they have termed as “discrimination” of boda boda riders, which they say is contrary to Article 21 of the constitution. The Aviation Police at Entebbe International Airport have arrested two people for vending grasshoppers, commonly referred as Nsenene aboard a Uganda Airlines flight. In a video that went viral on social media, an man who has been identified as Paul Mubiru was seen vending grasshoppers that he had stuck in a polythene bag to passengers in the economy class of the Uganda Airlines fight UR 446 to Dubai on Friday.
