The Ugandan Ministry of Health has told the press that they cannot rule out the possibility of a further extension of the lockdown if infections do not significantly reduce in the initially allocated 42 days of lockdown. The Kampala Lord Mayor, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago wants the government of Uganda to give each household Shs 252,000 in COVID-19 relief food to cover the new 42-day lockdown. Busoga Kingdom has expressed sadness over the loss of the former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to her rival and former Deputy Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah.
