Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze has commissioned agro-processing machinery and provision of agro-inputs to 4 farmer organizations and 8,628 individual farmers in Kamwenge District respectively.   In partnership with the World Bank, Government of Uganda has invested Ugs 2,438,428,565 in matching grants subsidies and agro inputs. Three Court of Appeal Justices have dismissed with costs an election appeal that was challenging the victory of National Unity Platform (NUP) MP and Parliamentary Committee Chairman of COSASE Joel Ssenyonyi as the Nakawa West Member of Parliament. This was after City Businessman Shukla Mukesh’s lawyer Badru Bwango failed to serve the memorandum of appeal in time and the same was not signed by a lawyer. Police in Cameroon have arrested a teacher after a video emerged online allegedly showing him brutally beating a nine-year-old boy. The incident is suspected to have taken place at a primary school in Doula, Cameroon’s economic capital. The video has been widely shared on social networks. It shows a totally naked boy being held by his arms and feet by four other children, while a man hits him with a rubber hose and then a machete. The Anti Corruption Court in Kololo has released on bail, the Uganda Land Commission chairperson Beatrice Nyakaisiki Byenkya. Byenkya had earlier been charged with abuse of office and obstruction of a search in her office by detectives from the Inspectorate of Government (IGG). After denying the charges, Byenkya asked court to allow her be released on bail since she has some illness that requires medical attention.
