Manzi Wanani singer Clever J is back in the news after journalists caught up with him brick laying to make a living. The faded singer, who according to his wife, Sharon Apolot, has been battling drug addiction, has now resorted to brick laying.
Clever J was a hot item on the Ugandan music scene in 2006/2007 with hits, most famous among them, Manzi Wanani. The way he fell off the radar he had attained, no one can explain.
In 2019, he resurfaced in the news, when his wife Apolot called journalists home to see the worrying situation they were staying in and accused Clever J of mistreatment and womanizing.
She claimed he had resorted to alcohol and weed and was not doing anything developmental at home. Instead, she said, he was just bringing new women everyday to their matrimonial home and fighting whenever he was confronted.
However, the public have applauded Clever J for resorting to something resourceful such as brick laying instead of stealing and thuggery like fellow artiste Qute Kaye.
Interestingly, Clever J was a brick layer before he joined the music industry.
