There were dramatic scenes at the parliament of Uganda when the skies opened up on Ugandan MPs and Ministers during the Shs 45 Trillion 2020/2021 Ugandan budget reading by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija.
The MPs who, in a bid to ensure social distancing, had gathered in light tents outside the parliamentary building had to run for dear life when heavy winds propelled showers inside their tents and disrupted the budget reading.
The Finance Minister and Speaker Kadaga were not affected as their section seemed to be heavily built and well prepared for circumstances like the above.
President Museveni and First Lady (also Minister of Education and Sports) Janet Museveni were also not affected since they’re catching the proceedings over video-conferencing from the comfort of State House Entebbe.
