The Uganda Revenue Authority has partnered with the National Drug Authority, to ease the clearance of import Consignments for Healthcare care products under the authorities regulation and scope of the regulation of NDA.
This will be done through the integration of the URA system with that of NDA,
Recently, URA and NDA ’business process analysis teams conducted a validation exercise for the proposed requirements for the Integrated Regulatory Information Management System (iRIMS) and ASYCUDA world.
The exercise comes at a tIme NDA is undertaking the development of a scalable web-based platform to enhance its enterprise business processes.
“This means that all our processes are going to be integrated to facilitate system seamless flow and improve productivity for both organizations and the stakeholders,” Mark Barigye, the Inspector of Drugs at NDA explained.
The specific integration requests include; validation of Tax Identification Numbers of Non-individuals and individuals engaging with the Authority and synchronization of the Tax Identification information to the NDA iRMIS.
Speaking at the opening of the two-day validation exercise, Susan Nakaleya-the Supervisor Customs Business at URA welcomed the initiative and noted that URA strives to engage its different stakeholders when undertaking re-engineering of its processes to ensure their success.
