Uhuru Kenyatta, the President of the Repulic of Kenya has suspended the school calendar in the East African coastal nation after two more cases of the deadly Coronavirus (COVID -19) were reported by health officials.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, the two more infected people have been moved to the Kenyatta National Hospital and they’re undergoing treatment as per publication of this post.
In a statement made and televised from State House, Kenyatta advises all employers to let their workers work from home as a measure to avoid crowded places so as to control the spread of the virus.
As if that is not enough, the government has put travel restrictions for all travelers going into Kenya from countries that have reported COVID 19 cases.
The president has ordered temporary closure of all schools by Monday 16th. Students in borading schools are to be home by Wednesday 18th while universities and tertiary institutions must all close by Friday 20th.
The public have been urged to avoid crowded places like malls, funerals and weddings.
