If at some point in your life, you have wished for absolute peace of mind; for a levitating experience that clears your mind of the daily conflicts you go through – your answer could be right in your eyes, the country’s rich Tourism Potential and a good getaway safari destination in Uganda and that is why today we profile for you the Simba Safari Camp.
Do you at times wish that the world should stand still with absolutely zero disturbances and motion? Yes, you have. Well, the world will always continue being what it is, chaotic, busy, noisy and somehow stressful depending in which place you stand, live and work.
So what if I told you that your wish was not all a lost cause? If I told you the Almighty created spots in the world where all is serene, breathtaking, beautiful and worthy of your experience. I have said too much already, behold;
Right in the heart of Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, Simba Safari Camp, renowned for excellent hospitality, is nestled atop a hill overlooking Lake Kikorongo, one the numerous craters in the park.
If you love nature then the excellent panoramic views across the Park’s extensive savannah plains teeming with wildlife will mesmerize you. It is so close to the famed mating grounds of the Uganda Kobs, the Kasenyi Plains on the edge of Lake George and thus around the most preferred area for game viewing and drives.
At Simba Safari Camp the views of the Lake George, Kazinga Channel, the peaks of the Rwenzori and the scenic crater lakes are as clear as the summer sky and the Camp itself is just two kilometres from the Equator and closer to the Kyambura Gorge where you could go chimpanzee trekking.
Year in year out, more and more travellers come to this amazing Destination because above the breathtaking nature around it, it has amazing competitive services, offers and prices which continue to make it the right getaway.
Simba Safari Camp has a total capacity of 70 beds including family cottages, twin rooms and dormitories. We are talking about nine double/twin rooms and two triple rooms. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished with two single beds or a double bed and mosquito nets.
Ensuite is a bathroom with running water that is solar heated and flushing toilet with natural pebble stones flooring, giving your feet a pleasant massage while taking a shower. More to that, each room features its veranda where you can relax or read a book while enjoying your privacy.
At the camp you will also find a family cottage if at all you are travelling with your loved ones, a comfortable accommodation that allows you to stay close to your family. The family cottage consists of two bedrooms, a fully equipped bathroom and a living room with an extra bed.
For those who are more on a budget, Simba Safari Camp offers three mixed dormitory rooms, with three, five and ten double-deckers. All double-deckers are provided with a mosquito net. Adjacent to the dormitory rooms is a common shower and toilet block with hot and cold running water.
At the main lodge you will find an open-air restaurant where delicious and affordable meals are served. The meals are prepared with care, giving you a real taste of the African cuisine. Lunch and dinner can be ordered from the a-la-carte menu and sometimes buffet is served.
Adjacent to the restaurant is a well-stocked bar where you can have a refreshing soda or cold beer. In the mornings, a wakeup call can be arranged with fresh coffee or tea served at your veranda. A great start for your early morning game drive.
An open lounge area is furnished with comfortable chairs, a great place to unwind after an exciting safari day. A TV with DSTV is available as well.
Well I cannot pre-empt all there is to know about this place, but I can give you an assurance that Simba Safari Camp is no ordinary destination, I would describe it as a heaven on earth, a small niche that the Almighty himself put out there for you.
