The National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) has dropped all Parliamentary Committee chairpersons and deputies who are NRM leaning to be dropped.
CEC also directed the Government Chief Whip to advertise all sectoral committee positions.
The decision follows allegations of corruption at parliament of Uganda.
CEC also resolved that all committee chairpersons and deputies who have served two or more terms be removed from their positions.
Recently, parliament has been under intense fire following corruption claims, with some members battling corruption cases at the Anti-corruption court.
Some of the committees affected by the leadership shake-up include Trade Committee, ICT committee, Legal Affairs committee, Health committee, Education committee Presidential Affairs Committee, among others.
