The music fan’s fraternity in the west African nation of Nigeria (Naija) have announced a boycott on all Ugandan music after court sent their born artistes Omah Lay and Tems to Kitalya Government Prison.
Omah Lay and Tems, are facing among others charges of deliberately exposing the population to a deadly pandemic after they held a “brunch” concert at Speke Resort Munyonyo with no COVID-19 standard operating procedures.
The two were arrested yesterday by the Katwe Police Station and were arraigned before court today morning for hearing.
Court remanded them, along with their managers to Kitalya Government Prison until Wednesday when they will resurface for further hearing.
Now music fans in their home country have announced a massive boycott on Ugandan Music demanding the immediate release of their artistes by the Ugandan government.
They have especially cited Ugandan Musicians Bebe Cool and Cindy Sanyu among others, that demanded the arrest and detention of Omah Lay and Tems.
Uganda is also set to host the 2021 MTV MAMA Awards that may go on without the much needed support of Nigeria.
