Just less than 2 months later since there was a nationwide power black out, Uganda has gone into darkness phase 2 owing to some technical problems at Nalubaale Dam, like the first time.
According to our sources in the power distribution company Umeme, there is a technical problem at Nalubaale Hydro Power Station that engineers are working tirelessly to resolve and restore power.
A scenario like this, has happened before, when a floating Island clogged turbines at the hydro power station and the nation experienced a blackout moments before a presidential address on COVID-19.
Umeme, who are just a distributing company, could not get into the nitty gritties of the situation as that is for engineers with the National Transmittor.
“We are a experiencing a nation wide blackout, investigations are ongoing to determine the [real] cause. Bear with us as we work on restoration. Any inconveniences are highly regrettable.” National Transmittor, the Uganda Electricity Transmission Co. Ltd (UETCL) said in a statement.
