Canon Zabron Rushambuza, a prominent businessman and church leader from Ntungamo Village, in Bushenyi District, is no more. The 93 year old died on Saturday night, according to reports from his family.
Popularly known as Ai Mukama, Mzee Rushambuza died after battling a long illness in Kampala, Uganda’s capital.
Mostly a jolly old man that loved his religion, town and the people, he came off as a braggart and boastful to some people who said that he spent of the time praising his life achievements, including those of his children, to whoever cared to listen.
He was the chairman of Batizi ba Bagoma in Kitembe. He loved his religion and is one of the people who built Nyakabirizi Church of Uganda.
Born in 1927, Mzee Rushambuza was the 2nd person to build a storeyed house in Bushenyi.
He will be survived by his children that include Apollo Mutungi, the owner of Quality Supermarket in Kampala, and Obadiah Ntebekeine who imports cars for sale.
