A 58 year old man who sexually abused a 16 year old orphan that had been left under his care has been committed to the High Court for trial on charges of Aggrevated Defilement and Trafficking in Children.
Resident State Attorney Janet Kitimbo informed the Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Stella Amabilisi that investigations into this case are complete and that there is evidence implicating 58 year old Tomusange Ronald to this crime.
The evidence Prosecution intends to present at the High Court shows that on 28 June, 2020 at Namungoona Kasubi Zone in Rubaga Division in Kampala, Tomusange Ronald being a person in authority performed a sexual act with a girl under the age of 18 years.
Tomusange took advantage of the victim after his wife Nakawesa Teddy left home due to misunderstandings the couple had.
Nakawesa met the victim in 2019 and accepted to stay with her since the victim’s biological father was in prison for defiling his own daughter while her biological mother was deceased and she had no where to seek refuge.
Magistrate Amabilis received the committal papers and told Tomusange to go back to Luzira Prison and wait for his trial in the next convenient session of the High Court.
Meanwhile the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has also ordered for the trial of a man Mubiru Abdulnoor Baazara who defiled a 17 year old girl left under his care by the Mother who had travelled to Saudi Arabia for work.
Mubiru aged 37 years is alleged to have committed the offence on 24th July, 2020 at Kyanja in Wakiso District.
Presiding Magistrate Stella Amabilisi has received the committal papers from Resident State Attorney Janet Kitimbo and ordered Mubiru to go back to Luzira Prison and wait for his trial in the next convenient session of the High court.
