News reaching our desk indicates that voters in Ntungamo Municipality have been feasting on live bullets and teargas as the NRM primary elections prevail.
The fracas was initiated by supporters of Yona Musinguzi and Edward Beyendeza the hottest contestants in the race, fronting that Beyendeza is planing to rig the votes.
From what our sources in Ntungamo managed to gather, residents say that Beyendeza has been buying voters who are not originally from Ntungamo Municipality to come and vote for him, something locals and supporters of Yona later found out – causing a stampede in the town.
Supporters of either candidates resorted to throwing stones at each other, triggering police and the army to release live bullets and tear gas upon them.
Apparently, Yona Musinguzi is leading the election.
