Fishermen have today recovered the body of an unidentified man suspected to be in his 30’s, floating on Lake Mulehe in Nyundo Sub County, Kisoro District.
The Fishermen saw the body floating when they went fishing near Musezero Landing Site in Musezero Village in Nyundo Sub County, today morning at around 9:00am.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate said that the fishermen
immediately alerted Kisoro Police, which swung into action and retrieved
the body.
Afande Maate said that a sweater and a pair of slippers belonging to the
deceased were also recovered from the bank of the lake.
Maate said that the deceased’s body was taken to Kisoro Hospital for
postmortem and positive identification and asked the public that whoever
has a missing person, should visit the hospital mortuary so that he is
given a decent burial.
He said that they suspect that the deceased could be one of the illegal fishermen who normally go to the lake at night and could have drowned while fishing.
