Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Gregory Mugisha Muntu, the former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party Chairman has resigned from the party leadership of the political party that he founded when he left FDC – Alliance for National Transformation (ANT).
ANT, who are located on Plot 87, Buganda Road in Kampala, have confirmed the development and informed this website that their Deputy National Coordinator i/c of Finance and Administration, Hon. Alice Alaso will replace Muntu.
Gen. Muntu launched the party in May 2019, after ‘forces within the FDC forced him out of the party’ having lost the Party Presidency to Hon. Patrick Amuriat Oboi.
Ms Alaso will serve in his capacity until a more authoritative decision is reached at the forthcoming National Delegates Conference in August, this year.
“Muntu will now seek election as the party’s flag bearer (ahead of 2021), and his decision to step down is in line with the party’s constitutional requirement.” Ms Alaso told the press.
