Fr. Simon Lokodo, the Minister of the State for Ethics and Integrity, has promised to reign terror on City Socialite and Sex Worker Shanitah Namuyimbwa (Bad Black) over ‘threatening to sue the government’.
Ms Namuyimbwa has been in the news after she threatened to sue the Ministry of Health and partners UNICEF, WHO over failure to pay her 500M for a COVID-19 awareness ad she fulfilled to make sex workers at boarder points aware of the threat of truck drivers.
In response however, the Ministry clarified that she had done the service as pro bono and there was no consideration for payment that was made to her. They insist that everyone that performed the advert was approached to just contribute to their country in the wake of the pandemic.
Father Lokodo insists that what Bad Black is doing (asking for her payment), amounts to extortion and if she doesn’t desist from it immediately, she will be arrested and charged.
“If she continues threatening the government, we shall lock her up for days as a punishment. She pretends to be a good person but has malicious intentions to extort money from the government.” Lokodo is quoted to have said.
According to the Minister, Ms Namuyimbwa is ‘making unnecessary complaints, and suing the government is no solution.’
“The government can decide to give her a token of appreciation for a job well done but not the way she wants. We can appreciate her for a good job but she should not forcefully demand the money,” Lokodo emphasised.
