The Ministry of Health has registered a new COVID-19 death. Confirmed by the Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, the new death brings the country’s death toll to 10.
While alerting Ugandans to stay on guard, the Ministry, says the number of infections continue to rise, with the current figures showing a staggering 1,332 positive cases.
On Tuesday, the Ministry registered 19 new positive cases that were confirmed from over 3,199 samples tested that day.
“11 of the 19 new infections are alerts, 5 are contacts to previously confirmed cases while 3 are truck drivers.” The Ministry said in a statement.
Of the eleven alerts, four are from Kampala Metropolitan area, and four of the five contacts to previously confirmed cases are also from Kampala Metropolitan area.
