The eggs, according to the Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary (PS) Dr Diana Atwine will be distributed to health workers in Mulago Hospital, Kawempe, Kiruddu Hospital, Naguru and Entebbe.
“We received 2,160 trays of eggs from Biyinzika Poultry Ltd and 500 trays from UgaChick for immediate distribution to our health workers. We greatly appreciate this support.” Dr Atwine said in a statement.
Health workers in Mulago, Kawempe and Kiruddu hospitals were immediately supplied with the eggs, as a form of appreciation for their efforts towards combatting the spread of COVID-19.
“Health workers are the unsung heroes in this fight against COVID-19. While the rest of us are locked up in our homes preventing ourselves against the virus, they’re interacting and treating Ugandans that have tested positive with the virus. We can never appreciate them enough.” A source within Biyinzika Poultry told our reporter.
