As Uganda moves to lift its corona virus lock down, the President of Uganda HE. Yoweri Musevini in his national address today listed a number of businesses and activities that are allowed to open amidst the pandemic.
However, he said those allowed to move must put on face masks and not use both private and public means to work.
These are activities and business allowed to operate;
- Wholesale shops
- Hardware shops
- Garages
- Metal/wood workshops
- Insurance companies
- Law firms (with clearance from the Uganda Law Society – ULS)
- Warehouses and factories
- Restaurants and hotels but should only give takeaways rather than people sitting wholesomely for eating
He also emphasized that schools, churches, concerts and other sorts of gatherings should remain closed.
Workers moving to their places of work must only use bicycles, walk to work or company owners hire buses to move their employees
