Wired information reaching us shows that a student of Makerere University that is yet to be identified, has been caught on CCTV Cameras stealing from the St. Augustine Chapel right inside the university – near the main building.
Exclusive information we have received from authorities at the church indicate that the ‘thief’ took away with church property, prominently among which was the priests’ robes which they wear when they are leading mass.
Other items that the bold thief made out with included church extension cables, laptops belonging to students and the church, a fan and light bulbs in the premises.
From the videos that we accessed, the student knew there was a camera in place and even looked in it but he probably thought because it was night time, he would not be seen.
He confidently pulls out an extension cable that was carefully placed besides the camera and goes about his business normally. The church is currently running an identification drive asking well wishers who may be knowing the said student to report to them.
Watch the video below and if you can be able to identify the culprit, reach out to the authorities.
St. Augustine Chapel is the Catholic Chaplaincy at Makerere University and has been in the university since the 70’s. It is an institution of respect within the university not only for being a house of God but also the worship centre for a large population of the university students.
