Mbale District COVID-19 task force is apparently troubled by the acts of their very own boda boda riders who have become collaborators of truck drivers whenever there is need of prostitutes in this season.
According to our sources in the boarder town, boda boda riders are taking these highly demanded ladies to hidden places along the highway whereafter, they’re picked by the drivers.
These acts have been highly criticized by both the task force and members in the communities that has forced the Mbale COVID-19 task force into formulating a review on how to curb such acts.
Mr Ogajo Barraza, the Mbale Resident District Commissioner (RDC) confirmed that truck drivers have changed tactics on how to get in touch with prostitutes highlighting boda boda men as their main loop hole in beating security.
He informed the Mbale District Police Commander (DPC) Mr Fred Ahimbisibwe and Mbale woman Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Connie Nakayenze Galiwango during her handover of the 20million to the Mbale COVID-19 task force.
This comes after a presidential directive restricting truck drivers to have stop overs while in transit.
He explained that the truck drivers call their old boda boda service providers to ride the prostitutes to agreed destinations and warned that any cyclist found in such acts shall be charged with attempted murder enlighting that the Mbale security had done a tremendous job in curbing truck drivers from making unnecessary stop overs.
Its very unpatriotic of the cyclists to engage in such acts that endanger the lives of other Ugandans into contracting the deadly virus. Hon. Nakayenze Galiwango appealed to security to tighten more so as all boda boda, truck drivers and prostitutes engaging in these acts get arrested and charged with attempted murder.
She further said that acts of prostitution are highly condemned by the president in such times. She further appealed to all those engaging in these acts to stop since such little money can cost many lives of innocent Ugandans.
The Mbale District Health Officer, Jonathan Wangusi assured residents to be aware of the COVID-19 post effects after the easing of the lockdown.
