Lifetime Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) politician Yona Kanyomoozi – a former Minister of Cooperatives in the Milton Obote government and recently a Member of Parliament (MP) in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) has died. A section of Makerere University students have vowed to boycott the planned universal suffrage elections scheduled for Saturday. The University Council is planning to hold a universal suffrage election across all colleges and halls of residence to elect a Constitutional Review Commission that will participate in amending the guild constitution. The National Agriculture Advisory Services (NAADS) has confirmed that the Kayunga pineapple factory is now ready for operation. Constructed with an investment of Shs 2.5 billion from the government, the factory is a fulfillment of a presidential pledge to Entebbe Miracle Centre who conceived the idea. Residents of Kiranga village, Bweramule Sub-County in Ntoroko District are in shock after an 18-year-old former primary seven girl committed suicide following a disagreement with her father over her recently acquired mobile smartphone. The Uganda Prisons Boss, Dr. Johnson Byabashaija has transferred up to 43 Prisons Officers in a recently announced development. The Uganda Police is investigating circumstances under which a Ugandan passenger died on a Modern Coast Bus in Kampala. The deceased, Shamilah Abduh Azizi, who was on board the Modern Coast Bus from Nairobi to Kampala together with her husband Muhamad Ssekimpi was found dead moments after reaching Kampala. A body of a Kenyan National who was allegedly killed in a suspected domestic brawl with her boyfriend has been recovered by the Uganda Police in Lubowa. The suspected killer is currently on the run, according to authorities.
